Date: Monday, 13th Jun 2022 | Category: send

NWG Exploitation Network

NWG’s new Exploitation, Diversity and Inclusion forum is meeting to discuss the long-awaited SEND Green Paper.

The Department for Education (DfE) published the SEND and alternative provision green paper on Tuesday 29 March 2022. To read please click here.

The publication of this green paper marked the start of a 13-week consultation process (the closing date been extended to close on 22nd July 2022).

It sets out proposals for a system that offers children and young people the opportunity to thrive, with access to the right support, in the right place, and at the right time, so they can fulfil their potential and lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives.

The forum is free to attend.

New Website Page

Dimitri has some great news to share too! There is a new page about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on the Havering Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) website. Just follow Dimitri’s instructions below to see it!

There is a SEND page for professionals and for parents/carers with lots of useful advice and guidance.

We have also added to a few of our existing pages too. We have included information about online safety for SEND to our keeping children safe page, and safety for children and young people with SEND on our child safety at home page.
